Reports to: GIS Supervisor

Location: Atlanta, GA

Status: Non-exempt

Brief Description:

GIS Technician will be the main point of contact for Client’s GIS needs to support business operations for field decisions and compliance metrics. GIS Technicians will become familiar with Client’s OPM (Operations Procedure Manual), GIS Standards, and current applications. This role will be responsible for application updates, future enhancements to already developed applications, streamlining reports processes and assisting field crews with reporting. Previous knowledge of natural gas is a plus, but not necessary. Knowledge of ArcMap, ArcPro, and supporting software is a must.

Examples of work/duties:

  • Reports to Client Office in Atlanta, Georgia, direct report to Client Managers.
  • Receives direction from Client Managers and communicates well with remote company employees.
  • Develops weekly reporting metrics.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize demands based on time and effectiveness of requests.
  • Utilize ArcMap (10.6) to visualize data, review relations, and attachments.
  • ArcGIS Online publishing experience through ArcPro and best practices for publishing Hosted Layers.
  • Be able to train other Client staff on application use and assist with navigating developed applications.

Requirements (education, licensing, certifications, etc):

  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in GIS or Engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerBI, Powerpoint).
  • GIS Application experience:
    • ArcMap 10.2 or greater
    • ArcPro 2.x or greater
    • Geometric Network
    • Utility Pipeline Data Model (UPDM) – basic understanding
  • Ability to pass Client required drug and background screening.
  • Effective communication and organization skills.
