Malcom X Shabazz High School Athletic Facility Ribbon Cutting

Congratulations to the Newark Board of Education and all stakeholders on the grand opening of the newly renovated Malcolm X Shabazz/South Side High School Stadium! SCE is proud to have been the selected design Consultant on this project providing engineering, surveying, permitting, landscape architecture and construction oversight services for the multi-purpose Stadium Field and Track improvements. This project involved the replacement of the previously installed synthetic turf field, renovation of the existing track and field event runways and high jump areas, new tennis courts, improved site drainage, and replacement of the scoreboard. The 400-meter running track was also designed with new all-weather track surfacing, with asphalt base construction. Check out the article below to learn more about this state-of-the-art facility!
