City of Hoboken Hudson Place Ribbon Cutting

Date: June 30, 2026

Congratulations to the City of Hoboken on the ribbon cutting of Hudson Place! Held on June 15, 2026, the celebration brought together community members, City Officials, NJ TRANSIT representatives, and SCE Project Team members to mark a major milestone in the ongoing Hoboken Connect redevelopment project.

Once a historically underutilized gateway to Hoboken Terminal, Hudson Place has been transformed into a vibrant, pedestrian-focused public space that enhances connectivity, accessibility, and resiliency while creating a more welcoming experience for residents, commuters, and visitors alike.

As part of the Hoboken Connect initiative, SCE worked with the City to support the rehabilitation of Hudson Place. Our team provided onsite construction observation services throughout the installation of stormwater and bioretention infrastructure, streetscape enhancements, lighting, signalization, bicycle facilities, landscaping, benches, planters, and other public realm improvements. The project also incorporates resiliency measures designed to address long-standing flooding and ponding concerns in the area.

The completed “living street” creates a seamless connection between Hoboken Terminal, the waterfront, and the surrounding community while encouraging pedestrian and bicycle activity. We are proud to have played a role in helping revitalize this important public space and congratulate all project partners on bringing this vision to life!
