Date: March 25, 2026

We’re excited to announce that Aqua New Jersey’s “Hamilton Well 13 PFAS Mitigation” project has received a 2026 New Jersey’s Leading Capital Construction Project Award from the New Jersey Alliance for Action! Aqua NJ along with project partners Allied Construction Group and SCE professionals were honored to accept this Award at a special breakfast held on March 24th! See below detailed description about the project and site photos! Congratulations again to Aqua NJ and all those involved on this award-winning project!

About this Award:

The New Jersey Alliance for Action’s “New Jersey’s Leading Capital Construction Projects” awards program was created to highlight innovative, pioneering and landmark construction initiatives that greatly impact the state’s economy and to honor the businesses and organizations that work together as partners to ensure the project’s success.

Project Description:

Aqua New Jersey serves over 185K people throughout 11 counties in the State of New Jersey, with water quality and continuous service as their highest priorities. In a proactive move to stay ahead of PFAS regulatory standards, Aqua New Jersey partnered with SCE to design and construct a state-of-the-art treatment facility for Well 13. This high-tempo project required the seamless integration of a new PFAS removal system situated adjacent to an existing radionuclides plant and wellhead.

The success of this project relied on more than just technical precision; it was a high-paced endeavor that demanded constant, transparent coordination with both the local community and regulatory agencies. A key engineering challenge involved overcoming pre-existing pressure limitations within the existing tanks and treatment infrastructure. To ensure the system met critical distribution pressures without compromising existing assets, a specialized booster pump station was integrated into the final design. Despite the aggressive schedule, the team hit every milestone for 2025 completion, securing a safe, compliant, and sustainable water supply for the residents of New Jersey.
