Safety & Security

Successful project outcomes are critical to SCE’s business and are the measure of our Client’s success. Project success can be impacted by many factors outside of the project team’s control; however, SCE goes to great lengths to anticipate such risks both on-site and in the office and plans for a resilient and robust project delivery process.

Site Safety

SCE has a moral and business obligation to provide a safe work environment for its employees, subcontractors and the public. Our policy is to abide by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Standards (OSHA) and to initiate and maintain appropriate practices that promote safety in the work environment. We made it our goal to ensure that safety and health efforts are so successful that accidents and injuries are eliminated. Some of our safety objectives include:

  • Reflect management’s commitment to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Establish a set of policies and requirements that management and employees can use as guidelines in their efforts to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Be in compliance with federal, state and local safety and health regulations.
  • Be in compliance with our Clients’ safety and health rules and regulations.
  • Achieve our goals of zero injuries, zero lost time due to accidents, zero OSHA violations
SCE has a fleet of vehicles which are utilized by our staff members for on-site project related services including data collection, meetings, deliveries and inspection. Our company vehicles are registered in their respective state and maintain the proper insurance requirements. Our vehicles are also properly stocked with necessary safety equipment, emergency kits and other related equipment / technologies. All of our offices have equipment storage areas which are located by our vehicle parking, allowing for accessibility for properly packing vehicles with the necessary equipment related to their project on-site visit.

Our staff members are knowledge and trained in our company’s policy for safety. Each employee is required to review and sign off on our company Handbook, which thoroughly outlines our policies and employee responsibility with safety equipment and personnel safety on-site. Each employee understands that it is their responsibility to enforce all safety regulations in each of their projects. Additionally, our Principals and Managers are responsible for regularly ensuring and enforcing these safety regulations to all staff members on each of their projects.

Security

Our employees can securely access systems and associated work files using highly secure protocols from any location with internet access. Furthermore, SCE’s Corporate Headquarters office and company server is fully operational throughout a power outage and a back-up power generator system is in place. SCE ensures file protection via daily back-up measures which include cloud-based remote servers and storage which are permanently archived on a daily basis. All company officers and key employees are available 24/7 to service staff and Clients.  The majority of staff are cross trained in multiple disciplines to allow for seamless office cross over in the event of staff shortages. Employees are able to work remotely from home as needed.

Cybersecurity

SCE maintains a robust Information Security Program that applies to all SCE employees, third-parties, service providers, contractors, temporary employees and/or other staff members at SCE, whether conducting activities on SCE premises or off-site. This program is run by our Information Security Oversight Committee (ISOC) consisting of key members in each business sector as well as a third party Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) who are tasked to exercise oversight and take appropriate action with respect to governance, risk and compliance (GRC) activities surrounding information security; providing direction, establishing controls, provide training, and developing and monitoring strategic plans for the Information Security Program. This program also applies to all systems, applications and equipment owned or leased by SCE whether located on SCE premise or off-site, and all SCE locations where sensitive data is present.

COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 Pandemic is a recent example of how SCE has managed to continue to exceed Client’s expectations and deliver projects throughout the unforeseen stay at home and regional shutdowns that have interrupted much of the normal process.

SCE understands the need to invest in the latest industry technologies and to always be prepared to respond to emergency situations including pandemics that cause significant changes to our daily routines. Our goal remains the same throughout these difficult times to prepare, educate ourselves, communicate to our Clients and Team Members to mitigate down time and production losses. Our Leadership Team has safeguarded our company’s internal services and project records while developing emergency action plans to respond to current situations in a quick and safe manner while protecting all staff and Client projects.

As regulatory agency closures and regularly scheduled meetings have taken on new formats and schedules, SCE has facilitated these efforts through virtual meetings and regular communication, enabling Client progress at a time when many did not perceive progress can be achieved.
